Welcome to Rosie Daily where an outfit will be posted for everyday of my little Rosie’s life!
My baby daughter, Rosie is due to be born in the next few weeks and I have been going crazy preparing everything she could possibly need. At the beginning of my pregnancy, I scoured the Internet reading through countless “newborn essential” lists, each of which came with a warning not to “overdo it”. I made a strict list of what we needed and vowed to keep to it. I didn’t want to waste money.
One evening when I was 28 weeks pregnant, I was admitted into hospital for high blood pressure of 160/120. If I had been diagnosed with pre-eclampsia that night, it would have ended with an emergency c-section, as there is no other way to “cure” this condition. Although Rosie had a good chance of surviving at 28 weeks gestation, it would have meant a very long NICU stay and potential life-long health problems. Fortunately, after being in the hospital over night, they came to the conclusion that everything was alright, and the high blood pressure was probably just a fluke.
For some reason, this whole incident made me abandon my initial idea to “not waste money” on Rosie. The heart wrenching feeling of possibly losing her made me believe that if there were ever a time that it was acceptable to “over do it”, it was now. So, as a first time mother, I admit I have gone overboard purchasing things that Rosie will probably never use. Especially clothes. I don’t want to miss or forget a single day in her life, so I made this blog of her life where her daily outfits will be posted weekly.
The plan for this blog is to post Rosie’s weekly outfits every Sunday. On Thursdays I will also post about our new newborn baby lifestyle, so check back here when you can!
Take care for now,
